Sun and Shade Growing Tips

Sun Loving Plants

An area exposed to full or near-full sunlight soil is ideal.  Leafy and root vegetables prefer full sun, but will still grow okay in partial shade.  Any site can become a highly productive garden; just choose the right plants for your spot.  Since plants grown in the Garden Patch are healthier, you can even cheat it a little.

Vine crops such as watermelons, cantaloupes, winter squash and cucumbers require large amounts of space.  Putting your GrowBox™ near a fence or trellis may allow for the growing vine.

Here’s a list of some sun loving plants:

  • Beans
  • Broccoli
  • Cantaloupes
  • Cauliflower
  • Cucumbers
  • Eggplant
  • Okra
  • Onions
  • Peas
  • Peppers
  • Potatoes
  • Pumpkin
  • Squash
  • Tomatoes
  • Watermelon
